Introduction
Welcome to Jane's Spacecraft, 2053-2054 edition.  This volume covers all spacecraft in use, both civilian and military.  All civilian ships are arranged alphabetically, while military spacecraft are arranged by nation.  This is because of the wide use of ships by different nations.

Civilian Craft

Aurek:
The Aurek line was one of the first major types of fusion-drive spacecraft, starting with the early second-generation drives.  It is well-known for being reliable and maneuverable.  The Aurek C also dominates the high-speed transport line, making up close to 70% of the market.  The Aurek B is common among shippers, but has somewhat lost to the Besh and Dorn lines.

Slew rate (full load): 1.02°/s2
Power generation:
1 MHD generator (40 MW)
Li-S Batteries (3.6 GJ)
Armament:
none
Comments:
The Aurek B series is a common medium freighter.  It's well-liked for it's durability and exceptional handling.  It's often criticized for overcommonality with the Aurek C, which results in some extra weight.  The B22 has exacerbated this problem, but has still been well-recieved.  Despite a few minor complaints, including a strange entry mechanism, it's proven a lasting design, with many 1-series still in service after numerous upgrades.

Aurek C15:
Mass, fully loaded: 948 mT
Mass, dry: 221 mT
Mass, standard payload: 500 mT

Comments:
The Aurek C line completely dominates the high-speed transport market.  When the market began during the pirate era, SpaceTech was quick to roll out the C, and has supported it intensively.  A large amount of extra capacity in the basic design, combined with easy maintenance and versatility, has made the C line a very capable spacecraft, particularly the latest C15.

Besh:
The Besh series has been a mainstay among bulk shippers since the early second-generation torches. It's strengths lie in the fact that it's a standard design, and its low cost. The Besh 2 is the most common bulk freighter in use, but the high-speed Besh 3 lost out to the Aurek C line, and only 33 were produced.

Besh 2-R:
Mass, fully loaded: 4002mT
Mass, dry: 1083mT
Mass, standard payload: 2500mT
Total length: 50 m
Hull length: 43 m
Hull diameter: 32 m
Crew: 14 (3 officers, 11 enlisted)
Propulsion:
Rocketdyne FQ-62T [335 GW]
Maximum acceleration: 2.46 m/s2
Cruising acceleration: 0.49 m/s2
Cruising Ve: 340000 m/s
Cruising delta-V: 36781 m/s
Slew Rate (full load): 0.48°/s2
Power Generation:
2 MHD generator (80 MW)
Li-S batteries (3.6 GJ)
Comments:
The Besh 2 is the most common heavy freighter in use. Its liked for its low cost and economical operation, and its very ubiquity enhances those features. The biggest complaint is that it's underpowered, and the construction is sometimes referred to as shoddy. However, those drawbacks are outweighed in the minds of most shippers by cost and truly enormous cargo holds.

Besh 3-A:
Mass, fully loaded: 4188mT
Mass, dry: 1398mT
Mass, standard payload: 2000mT
Total length: 50 m
Hull length: 43 m
Hull diameter: 32 m
Crew: 19 (4 officers, 15 enlisted)
Propulsion:
Rocketdyne FQ-74 [900 GW]
Maximum acceleration: 3.86 m/s2
Cruising acceleration: 1.26 m/s2
Cruising Ve: 340000 m/s
Cruising delta-V: 69825 m/s
Slew Rate (full load): 0.41°/s2
Power Generation:
4 MHD generator (160 MW)
Li-S batteries (5.4 GJ)
Comments:
The Besh 3 was a short-lived series. Boeing-Lockheed, who owns the design, was slow in producing a high-speed transport during the pirate era. That sloth, combined with a relatively low cargo capacity, and a non-standard torch, resulted in production ceasing with only 33, along with the FLS Liberty for the FLN, being produced. Most remain in service, but often heavily refitted as liners.

Production:
Manufacturer: Boeing-Lockheed
Besh 2:

In production: 2040-
Besh 3:
Number produced to date: 34
In production: 2045-2047

Cresh:
The Cresh series of Yachts is probably the most common full-torch ship in service. The hull was initially designed to be used as a yacht, and most of them remain in that role. However, numerous variants have been produced, including countless custom yachts, scout ships, customs patrol vessels, and light cargo craft.

Cresh Yacht, Series 17:
Mass, fully loaded: 56mT
Mass, dry: 31mT
Mass, standard payload: 10mT
Total length: 13 m
Hull length: 5 m
Hull diameter: 8 m
Crew: 3 (1 officer, 2 enlisted)
Propulsion:
Rocketdyne FQ-38 [6 GW]
Maximum acceleration: 3.16 m/s2
Cruising acceleration: 0.63 m/s2
Cruising Ve: 340000 m/s
Cruising delta-V: 59569 m/s
Slew Rate (full load): 4.73 m/s2
Power Generation:
1 MHD generator (1 MW)
Li-S batteries (45 MJ)
Comments: The Cresh Yacht Series 17 is the standard production model of the entry-level Cresh Yacht. It's often derided for being shoddily built by professional spacers, but this is not a problem for most users.

Cresh Explorer, Series 5:
Mass, fully loaded: 84mT
Mass, dry: 40mT
Mass, standard payload: 15mT
Total length: 13 m
Hull length: 6 m
Hull diameter: 8 m
Crew: 5 (1 officer, 4 enlisted)
Propulsion:
Rocketdyne FQ-53 [16 GW]
Maximum acceleration: 5.45 m/s2
Cruising acceleration: 1.13 m/s2
Cruising Ve: 340000 m/s
Cruising delta-V: 86578 m/s
Slew Rate (full load): 9.75°/s2
Power Generation:
2 MHD generator (4 MW)
Li-S batteries (240 MJ)
Comments:
The Cresh Explorer is the uprated version of the Cresh Yacht. It uses professional-grade components and an uprated torch, and is designed for general utility roles. It's far more popular among professional spacers than the standard yachts, though still not thought of very highly.

Dorn:
The Dorn series has been the most common commercial spacecraft in use for a dozen years. It provides a nice balance of carrying capacity, cost, and reliability for the small freight market. Both the B and C lines are still in production.

Dorn B19:
Mass, fully loaded: 282mT
Mass, dry: 46mT
Mass, standard payload: 200mT
Total length: 20 m
Hull length: 16 m
Hull diameter: 8 m
Crew: 6 (2 officers, 4 enlisted)
Propulsion:
Rocketdyne FQ-22 [42 GW]
Maximum acceleration: 4.29 m/s2
Cruising acceleration: 0.87 m/s2
Cruising Ve: 340000 m/s
Cruising delta-V: 41320 m/s
Slew Rate (full load): 0.73°/s2
Power Generation:
2 MHD generator (20 MW)
Li-S batteries (1 GJ)
Comments:
The Dorn B is the most common light freight design in use. It has a reasonable capacity, and a decent engine for its size, along with being the absolute standard for its class. Most spacers think that it's a decent design, but not great.

Military Craft

United States:
The United States of America's space force is the US Aerospace Force's (USASF) Space Force (SF). It was the earliest space force to develop space warcraft in the form of the FS-1 fighter, and remains the largest in personnel and budget. It has maintained a large force of fighters since then, with the F-26 and F-30 designs. It also possesses a small contingent of conventional warcraft.
